Memorial Day weekend we spent time at the Lakehouse with the Chris's family. This is what I picture every time I say or think the word 'lakehouse', so peaceful and so fun too. We get to go there every few months, but this weekend we were celebrating my brother-in-law, Josh's, 30th (surprise) birthday party. My sister-in-law, Liz, planned a double surprise party for Josh (one on Thursday and one on Saturday) and she pulled it off amazingly. It was so wonderful to be around family.
Here are some of the highlights:
1: Our monsters (Mazer and Finely) went with us:
Mazer watching Chris wake board in case he needs to jump in and save him.
Finley helping me read as we sunbathe on the dock

2. Open water swimming in the tri suits we got for Christmas (it was too cold to wear them in the actual race so we got to try them out)
3. The Pancegg, its my own creation involving a fried egg surrounded by a delightfully fluffy pancake
I'm thinking of selling the idea to IHOP. It probably deserves its own special month
4. Wake boarding. Ohh wake boarding, I love it and I hate it. You see, Chris and I are pretty competitive...and well, he is really good at wake boarding. Me?...I'm lucky to be able to get up on the wake board in the first 5-7 attempts. But this weekend I got up on the first try!!!! Wahoo!
Chris being his typical amazing self, I shall call this one the 'squatty potty' in honor of our future country
5. Let's Dance for the Wii. Love it!
6. You're never too old for a dinosaur birthday cake!
