From the desk of Chris...
Since moving to China, one thing that we've been missing is a gym. We like to try to stay in shape, and there are NO gyms nearby to workout in. We were excited because we finally learned that there is a small weightlifting room on the new campus! One day after class we went to check it out, but sadly, it was locked. We decided to explore the rest of the P.E. department and it was like stepping into a totally different world! For example, badminton is NOT a game for backyard bar-b-ques, it is a life or death sport here! People wear special gear to play and carry around their specialized racquets. At one point we walked past a class that was practicing Kung Fu with bo staffs! I started getting a little nervous a tried to find a weapon of my own... and I never would have guessed it, but I found a stack of swords! Genuine ancient Chinese swords, piled in the corner of the gym! As soon as I picked one up I heard a noise behind me. Fearful of being attacked by the Kung Fu bo staff clan, I turned around ready to fight....
In the words of Bruce Lee, "A quick temper will make a fool of you soon enough."
