College life in China

From the bus seat of Chris...

Since I'm wrapping up my last few weeks of teaching in China, I decided to start snapping some photos around campus. Often times the things that I see on a Chinese campus are very different than the things I saw on my American campus. Let me recap some of the highlights!

Very frequently we'll see the military or police force doing drills on the basketball courts. I guess it's one of the few places where they can find an ample amount of open space!

A statue of small children singing in M.C. Hammer pants? Can't touch this...

Who needs a kiln when it's hot enough outside to cook your pottery?!

In the Hunan Province we're very proud of our spicy food! Ode to the peppers!

Ok, I must admit... My campus at UNC didn't have a lake in the middle of it.

Dead birdie...

I'm not sure how well you can see this, but since there are no dryers and today was particularly hot, all the students hung their clothes outside their dorms to dry!

And of course there are plenty of Chinese signs everywhere. Red canvas banners seem to be a school favorite!

No moving van? No problem!

Finally, there's one of these outside every building. I sure am going to miss it here!
