This is the dance studio around the corner from our apartment.

I first passed it about a month ago and would go try and watch them practice but whenever I would stand in front of the window they would stop dancing and wave.  So I worked up the courage and dragged some teammates and students in to talk to the teachers a few weeks ago.  There was some question on how I would be able to take the class since there is zero English involved.  Luckily, dance is a universal language ;)  annnd I convinced a student to take the class with me too.  I have to say, the classes are awesome.

My teacher's name is Ar Shen.  He is a superb teacher and I have already learned a ton in just two weeks.  He is SYTYCD good.  He and a student, who's English name is Changer, did an impromptu performance last week and it was legit.  (I talk like that now because I am a hip hop dancer)  Changer is a slightly odd English name but she's sixteen and you know... somehow it fits.  This is my friend Margery and I.  She is wonderful!

And the first little bit of the routine we are learning.

I was sore for days after last week's class and so today, I decided to take the poppin class that is right after the hip hop class...cause I'm smart.  Chris came to join and it was really fun although, I doubt I will be able to lift my chopsticks to eat tomorrow.  This picture does not do our mad poppin' skills justice but they will have to do for now.
