Stop laughing at me, I'm new here -- part 2

From the desk of Chris....

We decided it was time for another update of "stop laughing at me, I'm new here!" Keep in mind that we get laughed at daily, but here are some of our "best" moments!

We've each been taking weekly language lessons with a language tutor in hopes of improving our Chinese. Part of our homework is to practice using Chinese in day-to-day situations. Most days we ride a bus, so we figured the bus would be a good place to practice. Let me set the stage: we're on a bus with about 70 people, so crammed in that you can't help but lean against someone and there's no way you can be comfortable. Here, this picture might help explain the situation!

When you want to get off the bus you're supposed to yell out "Yo sha!" in the angriest Chinese accent you can manage. You may think I'm exaggerating, but no... we have tried using multiple tones and accents... it works best when you sound angry! So here we are, ready to get off, and I yell out "Shay ya!" My brain got confused and decided to ask 70 people "Who is it??" Awesome... as if I didn't stick out enough already! I swallowed my pride, laughed at myself, yelled out "Yo sha," and got off the bus as quickly as humanly possible.
