Thailand Adventures Part 1: Elephantes

From the hotel room of Allie.....

It is about time we updated you on the fun adventures we had while Molly was in Asia.  And what better way to start than from the backs of these wonderful creatures?

We spent one of our days in Thailand taking a 'Magical Mahout Course' at Baan Chang elephant park.  And indeed it was magical.  We started out feeding the elephants, Molly thought this one got a little fresh.

All the elephants here were rescued from logging companies, or circus type places, and even one elephant that was used as a 'begging elephant.'  Their stories really were incredible.  Now, given my 'delicate' condition (more like at the strong' urging of my mom), we let our guide know that we were expecting and they said, 'no problem, we'll put you on a gentle elephant.'  What is does a gentle elephant look like you make ask?  Meet Mai'i.

Here's Molly on her elephant with a british guy named Adam.

For a live action look...

And you did hear correctly, the most 'gentle' elephant at Baan Chang is also the largest, 4 tons of loveable elephant gentleness to be exact.

At the end of the day, we gave our elephants a bath.  That was the most fun, although elephants seem to enjoy going number 2 when they are getting a bath.  I can just hear you now, 'Allie, how big is the number 2 of a 4 ton elephant?'  Well each turd was the size of my head.  Bleck.  Here's a montage (not of the turds).

It was an unforgettable experience, and the outfits weren't bad either :)
