Today we began the first leg of our journey! We are now in Fort Collins, Colorado where we will do a week of training before heading to Beijing. Here are some notable events from the day, some happy, some sad:
- We were allowed 200 pounds of checked baggage, we weighed in at 197. Should be interesting carting this all around China!
- Had to say "good-bye" to my parents and Molly, not a fun experience!
- Someone took our carry-on suitcase off the plane, thinking it was there's! It had all the important items that we needed to make sure didn't get lost, such as our diplomas, our Wii, etc. Thankfully, the guy relalized that his carry-on wasn't supposed to weigh 70 pounds and returned our's to the ticket desk.
- We're staying at the fake UNC (the University of Northern Colorado). We both graduated from the real UNC, so it was funny to hear them say "welcome to UNC". And no I am not going to spell out what UNC stands for.... It's the real UNC, no more explanation needed!
- Met a lot of amazing, like-minded people. It's so refreshing to meet people that have been going through the same things emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually as we have these past few months.
- Found out that we didn't receive a syllabus that we were supposed to receive several months ago. Now we're 66% done with our school assignments instead of 100%. We'll see how this turns out!
We'll keep you guys posted as things develop. Thanks again for all the support! We wouldn't have made it to this point without you guys!

Praying for you guys!!!
