This is yesterday morning at the Burlington Mission Man triathlon. Chris, me, and baby Young joined Chris's dad, Kanhka, and Olivia in a relay (with two teams) for a fun morning of activity. Chris and I swam, Kanhka and Olivia biked, and Chris's dad (accompanied by Chris) and Olivia ran the final leg. That's right, Olivia was 2/3 of our relay team. Disclaimer: I did ask my OB and he was totally on board, and Kanhka and Olivia are both doctors. We may be irresponsible parents but at least we ask around first.
The day began with a wake up call at 4:45am to get to the race site at 6:30am ready to go. While in the racer number area, I sheepishly asked the woman who was sharpie-ing numbers on my arms and legs if she would put a number on my stomach for the baby. She was so excited! It was awesome, since my number was 236, she put 236 1/2 on my stomach. Then called the photographer over to take an official picture of the race's youngest participant. Very cool. Team photo-op (pre-race):
Race results: Olivia and I came in second in the female relay teams and the guys came in fourth for the men's relay. It was a great race that funnily enough benefited missions. Hooray!
Here's the finish: Olivia is wearing all black with yellow shoes and Chris and his dad are a few seconds behind. Please note Chris in all his italian stallion glory.
We all agreed to return next year and do it again!
Impressive!! We are so sad we missed you while you were in town. We are insanely happy for you guys and send all our love.
